I grew up in Barrington, Illinois, and my life journey has taken me across the world. After earning my B.S. in Finance from Arizona State University and an MBA from the University of Southern California, I traveled with my husband, Karl, a mechanical engineer in the petroleum industry. Together, we lived in Singapore and then Australia, where we welcomed our twins, Kyle and Alexis. Eventually, the family returned to the United States, settling in The Woodlands, Texas, where I balanced a career in corporate finance with raising my children. Alongside my love for yoga, hiking, biking, and skiing, I found a deeper calling in writing. My debut memoir, The Housekeeper’s Secret, grew out of a promise made to my family’s beloved housekeeper, Lee Metoyer, a promise to tell her story. In writing the book, I not only fulfilled Lee’s wish but also discovered the power of storytelling to connect families across generations.
